Sales of Jack Daniels whiskey to Canada are down 62% according to CBC. I wonder how other major US brands are doing worldwide, and if they will recover if / when things stabilize.

The article seems to say the state run liquor stores pulled the bourbon off the shelf, so it follows sales will go down if citizens are not allowed to buy it. That said, I have talked to Nick Kuo who is in the Vancouver area and he said there is a bit of antipathy towards the USA. I asked him about booze boycotts, but he doesn’t drink liquor and didn’t know first hand. First hand from me is my favorite Jim Beam bourbon (two shots of bourbon, shot of sweet vermouth, dash of bitters and a couple of cherries on the rocks for a Manhattan) seems really inexpensive at around $10 per 750 ml bottle in California, so maybe there is excess bourbon supply. I do like Crown Royal whisky too. D.N.
